An interesting abstract, almost brutalist, impasto painting from the Northern Artist Ross Hickling. Title verso in pen ‘Men Falling’ and marked NFS (not for sale). We cannot be sure whether this did go to Paris in 1957, which was the year that Hickling and his artistic friends secured exhibition space in a Parisian Gallery.
A fantastic and unusual painting, in a mid-century style.
It is in original condition, with one slight press to the canvas front, but it is not pierced. Some slight cracks but no real paint loss, a fantastic decorators piece with a strong image.
